The 3B – The Bearded Bear Bar

We are a bar for the Bear community –

and this means for us that we are open to everyone and anyone.

It is precisely from this understanding that the Bear scene developed in the 90s – everyone as they are and want to be – whether with or without a beard and a belly.

Everyone who can feel comfortable and identify with us, our bar, and our guests is warmly welcome. We don’t think in terms of boundaries, but in terms of possibilities.

The bar at Mühlenbach 53 has a long history, which actually goes back almost 2000 years, because integrated into the bar area is a part of the former Roman city wall that surrounded Cologne.

And it is precisely this architectural peculiarity that the first gay bar in this location owed its name at the time – the Römerstuben. Many others follows.

In the 90s, our friend Darko made the bar, under the name Cox, Germany’s Bear bar, followed by Frank and Kai, who continued to run the bar. Later, Luca and Frank took over the long tradition of running a Bear bar in Cologne with the Gentle Bears.

Now, with THE 3B – The Bearded Bear Bar, we aim to establish a new hot spot for the community and hope for your support – because any bar is only as good as the guests who bring it to life.

Whether it’s for the monthly Bear Karaoke, Carnival, Cologne Pride, Bear Pride, or just an ordinary day – stop by, enjoy great company and a good drink, and make yourself at home.

The team behind the bar will do everything to ensure you have a wonderful evening in front of the bar.
